Mentoring of Czech Female Politicians
The Nordic Chamber has partnered NGO Forum 50% in a drive to help more women into Czech politics. Supported by Open Society Fund Prague from the „Let´s Give (Wo)men a Chance“ programme financed from Norway Grants andby the Danish Embassy, the Chamber will find 10 Danish and Norwegian female politicians who will function as personal mentors for 10 handpicked Czech female politicians. The 18-month „Men and Women in Equilibrium“ programm also includes three public seminars about gender equality in politics. “ Czech Republic is currently on a 78-th place as concernsthe number of female members of the Parliament. „This has to be improved,” Chamber Vice President Marie Passburg says. “Our mentoring programm supports a higher participation of female politicians based on our experiences from the Nordic countries.” More info at www.padesatprocent.cz
The Project is being supported by the Open Society Fund Prague from the Let’s Give (Wo)men a Chance programme, financed from Norway Grants. With Norway Grants, Norway contributes towards a reduction in economic and social disparity and the strengthening of mutual cooperation in Europe. The Let’s Give Women a Chance programme promotes equal opportunities for women and men both in their work and personal lives as well as prevention and help for victims of domestic and gender-based violence in the Czech Republic. It is operated by the Open Society Fund Prague, which has been developing values of open society and democracy in the Czech Republic since 1992.
